This glass pendant is inspired by the graceful movement and curves of water, air and energy vortexes that can be found here and there in the world around we if you keep our eyes open. This piece is painstakingly handmade from handblown sheet glass with layers of clear and blue glass which is slowly cooled and then cut, ground, and sand-carved to create the basic shape and pattern in the first two days of a multi-day process. It is later reheated in the hot shop, fire-polished and heat-treated in the 1000C degree reheating furnace to melt in the rough surfaces and edges and create a tactile yet smooth surface with a metallic finish on one of the faces. The two different faces increase the possibilities for different expressions on different ensembles and backdrops but nothing can ever really top the timeless beauty of an elegantly formed piece of glass on bare skin. This pendant is sold with a simple natural leather cord tied in a manner that allows it to be adjusted to different lengths- from a short 'choker' to a longer pendant. The leather will gradually soften, darken, and change in appearance over time. You can accelerate the softening and aging process by rubbing a natural oil, (jojoba, coconut, or other) compatible with your skin into the length of the leather cord.
